Who Was Who Is Who #18

So for want of anything better to write about on a Monday, I'm going to go through all my copies of Who's Who and see if I can predict who will make it over to the new DCU by the end of 2012, who might make it and who hasn't got a Grim Ghost's chance.

GORILLA CITY - probably going to appear (if it hasn't already) but as it's a place I'm not counting it.

GORILLA GRODD - not being a Flash reader, I don't know if Grodd's returned at the time of writing (mid-Feb) but if he hasn't, he's going in the "definitely appear before the end of 2012" column.

GRANNY GOODNESS - another of those Apokoliptian gods that might make it back following the return of Darkseid to Justice League so she's going in the possible column.

GRAVEDIGGER - apparently he appeared in Men of War before it got cancelled so he counts as being already in place.

GREEN ARROW - here's an obvious one for the already in place column; Ollie was at the head of the relaunch with his own new series. Who's Who also details his Earth-2 counterpart but as he hasn't been around since the original Crisis, I very much doubt he'll show up in the new Earth-2 series.

GREEN LANTERN - while I've dealt with other heroes and villains who share the same name as one entry, I'm going to break these guys up like so:

Alan Scott - hasn't been around yet (mid-Feb remember) but is almost certainly going to appear in Earth-2. If he doesn't, there'll be questions asked in Parliament. Or Congress. Or the Senate. Whichever one is applicable.

Hal Jordan - yes, of course he's around. Sure, the film may not have been as successful as some hoped but can you imagine a DCU part run by Geoff Johns without Hal Jordan?

John Stewart - John's in action as well, taking one of the lead roles in Green Lantern Corps although he's not having a great time of it at the moment.

GREEN LANTERN CORPS - it's perhaps a little disheartening to see that most of the members name checked in the Who's Who entry are now dead. Arisia, Salaak and Stel are still around and the Corps exists (and has their own title) so they count as being in place.

GREEN MAN - a member of the Lantern Corps, I don't think we've seen him since the relaunch but he might turn up in the Corps title so he's going in the possibles.

GRIMBOR - hmmm, a muscle man wearing a leather leotard and chains. I'm going to say we won't see him again and Dave Sopko, the COEP Legion go to guy, agrees, saying "I really do not think that we will see the master of chains...or whatever he called himself, this year."

GRIM GHOST - or the Gay Ghost as he was once known and with that old name hanging over him, I very much doubt we'll see him appearing any time soon.

THE GUARDIAN - last showing up in the pages of Justice League of America, I don't think we've heard about the Guardian returning since the relaunch but please tell me if I'm wrong.

GUARDIANS OF THE UNIVERSE - oh yes, these little blue men are around, causing trouble for just about anyone wearing a ring of any colour and currently (mid-Feb - lead time, people!) planning to do away with the Green Lantern Corps which isn't going to end well at all.

So in summary, six already in place (Gravedigger, E-1 Green Arrow, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Green Lantern John Stewart, Green Lantern Corps, Guardians of The Universe) two definites (Gorilla Grodd and Green Lantern Alan Scott) and two possible (Granny Goodness and Green Man)
