Reflections are often used to show the dark side of whatever's being reflected but here's a mixture of both that and the good guys as reflections:
Now I know that the Countdown issue could be classed as a homage but I thought it worked best against the original. True, it would have worked better if the reflections hadn't been cluttered up with loads of other Wildstorm characters, but there we go.
Reflections are also a nice way to have the main character appear without really appearing if you see what I mean:
Ahh, Martian Manhunter - what a series that was.
It is a good thing you put the JLA next to the Countdown...as I had NEVER noticed it as an homage before...Cluttered indeed!
ReplyDeleteYeah, cramming that many characters in was a little unnecessary; it would have worked better if it were just the main characters and their reflections.
ReplyDeleteyou should check out the JLA Crisis on 2 Earths movie. it's all around pretty good and definitely one of the better animated movies from DC or Marvel.
ReplyDeleteDo you know, I haven't seen a single one of the DC animated films. Shocking, isn't it? I think I might need to rent them one weekend and just have a long blast watching them!
ReplyDeletewell in that case let me recommend these two postings of mine which feature links to clips from two of the better DC movies Superman/Batman Apocalypse. Wonder Woman has never been this bad ass like you'll see here: http://suicidesquadtaskforcex.blogspot.com/2011/06/superman-batman-apocalypse-another-dc.html
ReplyDeleteand Superman/Batman Public Enemies: http://suicidesquadtaskforcex.blogspot.com/2011/03/superman-batman-public-enemies-finally.html
We liked those as well as All Star Superman and Emerald Knights at our house...
ReplyDeleteTrust me, guys - at some point I plan to watch them all. Far as I know, they're all done-in-ones, yeah? Anything stopping me watching them in any order?
