What Brings You Here?

Annnnnnd because I have little else to blog about today, I though I'd dip once more into what brings some people to my lowly corner of the blogosphere over the last week or so:

Hmmm, still getting a fair few people looking for eunuchs but for some reason there's a big influx of love for Giganta at the moment. Still, nice to see Johnny Alpha getting some appreciation, too.

In other news (blimey, it really is a slow day today) I've just checked the shopping list for this week and my first batch of New 52 titles is out: Green Arrow, Justice League International, Stormwatch and Swamp Thing.

Looking forward to the last three of those but JT Krul's going to have to improve on his run from the last series.

Friday Night Fights - Dog's Dinner

Here we go, back for the Friday Night Fights courtesy of Spacebooger.

I've gone old school here to cope with the demands for a fight that features feet flying in fury: here are a few pages from the Galaxy's Greatest Comic, 2000AD, reprinted in the gorgeous Strontium Dog: Search/Destroy Agency Files Vol 4.

Mutant bounty hunters Johnny Alpha and Middenface McNulty have teamed up to bag as many wanted criminals as they can, staging a "big rammy" - a free for all fight which they've entered as well.

After all, they put up the prize money to entice the bad guys - they're not going to let them win it!

But McNulty's down, kicked on to the ropes. Surely Alpha wouldn't hit a lady?

When there's money at stake gender is no defence! A flying kick to the back of the head and it's done!

Go check out Spacebooger for the rest of the fights and make sure you place your vote by leaving a comment there.

The Big Rammy appeared in 2000AD in the late 80's and was written by Alan Grant and illustrated by the masterful Carlos Ezquerra.

Friday Night Fights - Dredd Vs Dog

Spacebooger demands One Panel of Pain for these fights so that's what you get.

Steering away from American superheroes this week, here's a shot featuring British icon Judge Dredd whaling on another 2000AD legend Johnny Alpha, aka Strontium Dog.

For some reason, they aren't getting on together:
Dredd must still be pissed by that Stallone movie.  I know I am.

Go check out the other fights at Spacebooger and remember to vote for your favourite.

This face into wall interface is from the Judge Dredd: Judgement Day graphic novel, written by John Wagner and Garth Ennis with art by Dean Ormston.
