Wow, Frank, tell it like it is, why don't you? |
GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS #23 - Relic attacks the new homeworld of the Blue Lanterns just after the Hope entity flies off. Despite Saint Walker's attempt to negotiate with Relic, and later Kyle and Carol's attempts to stop the big bad guy, the Blue Lantern's Central Power Battery is destroyed as are most of the Blue Lanterns.
Not bad on the whole; Kyle's frustration, Carol's discovery of Relic's motivation, even the sacrifice of the Blue Lanterns is handled well. Shame it ends on a downer.
JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #23 - while two of the Leagues battle first Wonder Woman, then Shazam, then Frankenstein then anyone else who gets their hands on Pandora's Box, other heroes confront Waller about her machinations while Batman and team find Madame Xanadu. It's at this point she realises the Box isn't a prison but a doorway which the Outsider is apparently going to open.
Trinity War continues and is doing nicely, too - there's a good mix of action, plot and revelation, all portrayed in a splendid manner by artist Mikel Janin. As to the box - it's got three eyes and Atom found a chess set with the Superman piece missing. Anyone else thinking Despero?
TRINITY OF SIN: PANDORA #3 - in the midst of the Trinity War, Pandora casts her mind back to various teachers of the centuries that she has studied under and comes to a realisation about her relationship with the seven sins. This allows her to take the first step in stopping them.
Not bad, though I'm a little more interested in what she's going to be up to after the end of Trinity War.
And what made me smile:
Hey, Mr Goyer, Mr Nolan, Mr Snyder? Look: a Superman who cares about injured civilians.
