Who'd Like A Cocktail? #69

• Black Terror #7 - this series kinda seems to be stumbling from one big fight to another but does so with such abandon that I'm still enjoying it - plus it gave me this week's quote for the banner.
• Blackest Night: JSA #2 - oh, those sneaky, tricksy Black Lanterns! Who'd'a thought so many heroes could be so easily duped?
• Green Lantern #50 - Hal Jordan appears as Green Lantern and Parallax in the same issue and has the Spectre along as well. Jeez, it's like all his ex's turned up at once!
• Justice League: Cry For Justice #6 - was it just me or was this issue actually not that bad? Of course, we can all guess how it's going to turn out because of . . .
• Justice League of America #41 - . . . which takes place after the events of Justice League: Cry For Justice #7 which isn't out yet, but even this issue wasn't too bad. Poor old Reddy's been dismantled again but the time-travel aspect with Tomahawk and Miss Liberty looks like a nice set-up; even Green Arrow's grim hunt for Prometheus didn't impair it too much. For the first time in several months, this series seems to be picking up.
• Justice Society of America #35 - this was a really good issue; Mr Terrific's refusal to play by Mordru's rules; Wildcat's prison; even Dr Fate's drooling on the floor all worked superbly. Only one complaint: Flash's dialogue just didn't sound like Jay to me.
• Teen Titans #79 - have to admit this didn't work for me at all; it didn't flow at all, just jumped about everywhere: page 3, the Titans are all working out together and Static says he has to head home; page 4, Static's at his sister's apartment having travelled all the way to Dakota; page 5 and the Titans have just finished their workout. The rest of the issue's just as clumsy, really.
• Ravager co-feature - Ravager manages to break free of the bad guys but doesn't get the answers or closure she needs. Still better than the main story, though.

Who'd Like A Cocktail? #59

With the wonders of technology, I'm not even here when I'm posting this!

• Ambush Bug #7 - the mini-series that almost died finishes in typically bizarre fashion. Marvellous series but I think this might be the end of the Bug.
• Blackest Night #4 - Damage is done for! 100%! Nekron rises! Oh crap!
• Blackest Night: Titans #3 - who'd have thought Dove would turn out to be the saviour of the day?
• Final Crisis Aftermath: Ink #6 - a bit up and down, this series, but at least that ending's kinda cool.
• Green Lantern #47 - waaaaait a second . . . did Sinestro just get a first name after almost 40 years? Or have I somehow missed that in the past?
• Justice Society of America #32 - Power Girl gets ready to hit someone!
• The Last Days of Animal Man #6 - and this mini-series wraps up nicely. Really enjoyed this and, if you haven't been reading it, I recommend picking it up once it's collected.
• Teen Titans #76 - Beast Boy acts like a dick; Aquagirl and Bombshell bitch about each other; Blue Beetle and Static bitch about Beast Boy. That's the entire issue. Anyone remember the days when this team liked each other?
• Ravager co-feature - Ravager over steps herself and, for the first time in a while, gets her arse kicked.

Here's the weekly run down of the comics I picked up this week:

• The Brave And The Bold #24 - don't know much about Static so this issue seemed a little lacklustre - not bad, just nothing notwworthy;
• The Dark Tower: Fall Of Gilead #2 - this series just keeps getting better and better;
• Final Crisis Aftermath: Dance #2 - what are they doing to Rising Sun?  The guy deserves better;
• Green Arrow And Black Canary #21 - has Andrew Kreisberg actually read any Black Canary stories before? Last month it was all Canary's fault because of some repressed teenage angst, now he has her being a dumb blond thinking to herself: "I hope that whatever that is in her hands isn't more complicated to operate than a Dust Buster because when it comes to me and technology..."  Jeez, Kreisberg - she's the chairman of the Justice League for frick's sake!
• Masquerade #4 - a damn fine mini-series and I can't wait for Project Superpowers to continue;
• The Boys: Herogasm #2 - oh dear, someone's watching Hughie . . .
• Power Girl #2 - really enjoying this but I have a complaint: the Ultra-Humanite gets an origin story that completely ignores his Golden Age appearances?! Where's Delores Winters?! The All-Star Squadron?! Jimmy, Justin - sort this out!
• Project Superpowers: Chapter Two #0 - hey look, I can't wait for it to continue and here it is!
