DC's September Solicitations

FOREVER EVIL #1
"The first universe-wide event of The New 52 begins as FOREVER EVIL launches! The Justice League is DEAD! And the villains shall INHERIT the Earth! An epic tale of the world’s greatest super-villains starts here!"
So the first issue of Villains United oops, Forever Evil hits as the bad guys take over the DCU. For a month. Hardly a long term success, is it?

JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #7.2: KILLER FROST
"Not every villain is grateful to the Secret Society for ridding the world of the Justice League. For Killer Frost, only one thing matters: feeding off Firestorm’s energy! But with Firestorm gone, a desperate Frost is forced to decide whether she should search for the missing hero or find a new source for her power fixes."
Killer Frost - who appeared in the last handful of Firestorm issues is somehow worthy of a centre stage appearance? Who knew?

JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #23.2: ECLIPSO
"The powerful Black Diamond has been seen causing trouble in different corners of The New 52. Now you will learn its secrets as it lands in the hands of the host it was always meant for...and the full power of Eclipso is unleashed!"
But . . . Eclipso had the black diamond at the end of Sword of Sorcery - why wasn't his full power unleashed then?

GREEN LANTERN #23.4: SINESTRO
"Years ago, Sinestro used his Green Lantern ring to utterly dominate his home planet of Korugar, all in the name of “protecting” his people. It’s the mistake that turned his name into a curse, and brought down the greatest Green Lantern of them all…but one never-before-seen moment from those dark days holds the key to his future!"
And minutes after Sinestro leaves the universe forever in the pages of Green Lantern #20, he's back in action as a bad guy. That's what DC thinks of Geoff Johns' legacy!

Honestly, I'm a little underwhelmed at the whole Villains Month thing; obviously I'll pick up my titles but aside from the actual miniseries, I'm not that bothered with it.

  1. How will you determine "your" titles given their stupid "Superman 23.1, -.2, -.3, etc." structuring to the detriment of some of "my" titles like Supergirl and Superboy? Sometimes it seems like DC are trying to drive me away....

    1. I'm not entirely sure, Kent - I guess I'll be at the mercy of my local comic shop who will, no doubt, encourage me to buy as many of them as possible!
