DC's August Solicitations

All Star Western #23:
"Hex is trapped in modern-day Gotham City…and he’s getting ready to shoot his way out! Find out how he got here—and see what part Batman plays! And in the backup story, the Vigilante seeks revenge!"
As cool as it might be to see Hex in the present day, I'm wondering if the Vigilante is going to be Greg Saunders or a totally new guy.

Ame-Comi Girls Collection

I was tempted to pick this up as an ongoing - as it's by Palmiotti and Gray and they're always good value - but decided against it just down to money. As it's collected, though, that'll be one to order.

Demon Knights #23
"FINAL ISSUE
The Knights are running out of options as they try to protect the Holy Grail! Plus, the fate of the Black Diamond is revealed!"
Well this is sad news - Demon Knights has been consistently good and one of my favourite New 52 titles but it's coming to an end. Such a shame.

Earth 2 #15
"Dr. Fate, Red Arrow, The Flash, Green Lantern and The Atom all fall victim to the Hunger Dogs of Apokolips as the war against the forces of Steppenwolf continues!"
Yay! Red Arrow! And isn't that just a gorgeous cover by Juan Doe?

Threshold #8
"FINAL ISSUE
The game is over for the Hunted! Who lives and who dies is sure to set the universe ablaze. Plus, a major villain emerges from the shadows!"
And another title coming to an end - another shame as I enjoy Giffen's writing but I'm not too surprised by this. A $3.99 title without a single big name character set in space and almost completely divorced from the main DCU? Ambitious but sadly it didn't pay off.

And "Who lives and who dies is sure to set the universe ablaze"? Really?

  1. Threshold was probably doomed when someone realized Larfleeze could just get his own book.

    1. Good point; I'll definitely pick up the Larfleeze book but it's a shame there wasn't room for this, as well.
